In Britain everyone is brainwashed from cradle to grave to give gifts to charitable institutions who are always advertising for you to give them your hard-earned money to cure cancer and other deadly diseases and to help the starving millions around the world, but St Anthony never gives to any of these money-grabbing institutions but always puts money directly into the hands of the person in need rather than into the pocket of the institution's director to buy himself a new luxury yacht on the Costa Brava.
