Hi Heather & All, Thanks for all the birthday wishes and some interesting comments. Heather sends some info on our gt grandad's stately home at Kilcrenagh being burned to the ground by IRA hoodlums after midnight on Thurs 26th May 1921, but the family that was in residence was actually only gt grandad Ebenezer, 67, and his unmarried daughter, Norah Eileen, 26, as per Lt Col Walter Guinness report to Parliament at api.parliament.uk/historic-hansard/commons/1921/jun/01/military-operations-ireland-1. So, the question is where was gt grandma and of course grandad, granny and dad? Now, the IRA uprising started in Jan 1919, so did grandad take granny and dad along with gt grandma to London? Now, Bentley Motors was officially founded in July 1919, but Wikipedia, for reasons better know to itself, puts it in Jan 1919, so did grandad leave Ireland in 1919 after the IRA uprising began and which eventually ended in July 1921 shortly after gt grandad's stately home was burnt to the ground? Also, I don't know when exactly grandad purchased his home at Doone, Moor Park which is worth a cool £2 million today. Anyway, Robin has kindly posted a pic of me at dad's home at Lawncroft in 1952 which was a smaller version of grandad's home at Doone both of which were paradaisical wonderlands and it is absolutely tragic that we lost them both along with Kilcrenagh and of course Bessborough which was give to the nuns and our 10,000 acre Pikeland, PA estate which was given to that son-of-a-bitch Hoare family of Princess Di fame. O well, as they say in old Chinatown, c'est la vie, that's life!! P.S. I signed up for a Google account to access Jeremy's Markapur photos and/or vids, but it then said that the requested url is not available.
